‘Wishbone’ to compete in US

The movie ‘Wishbone’ has been selected to go on screen at the 14th edition of Universal Film Festival in the US, says the director Ali Atshani.

The film shows the life of Damoun, the fired coach of a well-known club, who meets a girl with whom he has been in a relationship years ago.

The film’s cast includes Mitra Hajjar, Hossein Yari, Mahchehreh Khalili, Azadeh Mehdizadeh, Bita Atshani, Maziar Fallahi and Khashayar Rad among the others.

The film is experiencing its 21st presence at the various festivals in the world.

Some of the film's accolades include the awards for best feature film and best director of the year at the WIND International Film Festival in the US and Best Cinematic Film at the 3rd London Independent Filmmakers Association Festival in the UK.

It was also nominated for the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Editing, Best Supporting Actor Male and Best Cinematography awards at the WIND International Film Festival and received six nominations at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin in Germany.

Universal Film Festival which is held in Kansas State is one of the 10 top US film festivals.

The fest provides a venue for different individuals with various independent films to gather and exchange experience. It highlights aspiring filmmakers, from college students to full-time filmmakers.

The fest is slated for August 22-24, 2019.
